To Meet Local Market Demand Production and Supply of 900 Vehicles by Karwa Automobiles in 2025

Karwa Automobiles, the first national automotive manufacturing company in the Sultanate of Oman, produced and supplied approximately 900 vehicles of various types to the local market during 2025, as part of its efforts to strengthen the automotive industry in the Sultanate. This initiative supports the industrial sector with new products that enhance Omani manufacturing, contribute to achieving self-sufficiency in vehicles, and reinforce the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a key pillar in the transportation solutions industry.

Dr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Balushi, Chief Executive Officer of Karwa Automobiles, stated that the company’s achievement in producing and supplying vehicles to the local market stems from its firm vision to establish a national automotive industry in the Sultanate of Oman and to realize its strategic objectives in a sector vital to the country, while meeting local market needs across various vehicle applications.

He added that school buses represented the largest share of production, with 822 school buses manufactured in line with the approved vehicle replacement plan, ensuring the highest levels of safety and security for students in accordance with international automotive quality standards and approved national regulations.

Dr. Al-Balushi further noted that the company also produced and supplied 100 buses to both the government and private sectors, as part of integrated transport solutions carefully designed to meet institutional operational requirements and mass transportation needs with high efficiency and sustainable reliability.

He explained that the company also successfully produced and supplied 30 specialized buses for the oil and gas sector, built in compliance with the highest safety standards approved by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), ensuring optimal performance in demanding operational environments. This reflects institutional trust in the solutions provided by Karwa Automobiles.

He further indicated that production and supply to the local market demonstrate the efficiency of Omani automotive manufacturing and represent a practical translation of the company’s commitment to meeting market demand for vehicles.

Dr. Al-Balushi affirmed that Karwa Automobiles continues to move confidently toward the future by enhancing local content and increasing the competitiveness of the automotive industry in the Sultanate of Oman, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
