Karwa Motors Signs Cooperation Agreements with Local Companies to Increase Local Content and Strengthen Procurement from National Factories
Karwa Motors announced the signing of a series of cooperation agreements with a number of local companies, including Al Alyat Trading Factory for Glass Manufacturing, Reem Batteries & Power Equipment Company for the manufacture of various types of batteries, Dar Al Salam Silver Company for the supply of industrial gases and petroleum products, and Hamdan bin Rashid bin Salem Al Issaee Trading Company for the manufacture of lubricating oils. This initiative forms part of the company’s strategy to increase local content and enhance procurement from local factories, in line with national directions aimed at supporting the industrial sector and strengthening local supply chains.
These agreements aim to develop an integrated local supply ecosystem encompassing component supply, industrial services, and technical support. This will contribute to enhancing added value within the Sultanate of Oman, improving manufacturing efficiency, reducing reliance on external imports, and supporting local companies by enabling their integration into specialized industrial supply chains.
Karwa Motors confirmed that this step is part of its phased plan to increase industrial Omanisation, localize knowledge, and transfer technical expertise, thereby supporting the sustainability of manufacturing operations and enhancing the competitiveness of national products in local and regional markets.
“These agreements represent an important strategic step in Karwa Motors’ journey to enhance local manufacturing and increase local content in its products, thereby creating real added value for the national economy. Cooperation with local companies is a fundamental pillar of our growth strategy, as it contributes to achieving effective industrial integration, creating employment opportunities, and supporting industrial innovation, in line with the future objectives of Oman Vision for industrial sector development.”
