STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT SIGNED BETWEEN MERCEDES-BENZ AND KARWA MOTORS DURING THE INTERNATIONAL BUS EXPO 2025 – BRUSSELS
In a new achievement that strengthens the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a promising industrial hub in the bus and vehicle manufacturing sector, a strategic partnership agreement was signed during the International Bus Expo 2025, held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, between Karwa Motors of Oman and Mercedes-Benz (Daimler Trucks Middle East & Africa).
This agreement aims to expand regional and global capabilities in bus manufacturing by officially appointing Karwa Motors as a Certified Builder for Mercedes-Benz buses.
Under the agreement, Karwa Motors will manufacture Mercedes-Benz buses for the Omani market, as well as for regional and international markets, within an integrated framework of technical and commercial cooperation. This collaboration is intended to enhance manufacturing capabilities across the region.
The agreement was signed by:
- Dr. Ibrahim Al-Balushi – Chief Executive Officer, Karwa Motors
- Mr. Michael Dietz – President and Chief Executive Officer, Daimler Trucks Middle East & Africa
The signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. Markus Watts, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Buses, who stated:
“This agreement represents a historic milestone in the journey of cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and Karwa Motors, establishing a strong partnership that contributes to building a world-class manufacturing ecosystem from the Sultanate of Oman to international markets.”

He further added that this partnership opens new horizons for joint collaboration with Mercedes-Benz in the development and manufacturing of modern buses for regional and global markets, while reinforcing the Sultanate of Oman’s role as a regional industrial hub for advanced transportation technologies and sustainable manufacturing.
